When I Consider The Sublime

Love is a spiral that grows from an infinitesmal point
Into a circle that encompasses the boundary of Universe
Held together by the omnipresent weight of a black hole
Even as every rhapsody to your beauty is one projection
Of desire among the near-infinite projections of humans
Since before the creation of the Cosmos where we try
To solve the mysteries of life and death while children
In ignorance of higher powers learn to read and write
And parents test the frontiers of consummation with mad
Intensity unable to overcome limitations of their heart
Soul and body held to this world by irrevocable gravity
Until we are released from this prison to freedom given
To those who find themselves dealt a hand of mortality.
